It's A Ducking Stat Attack

Time allowing, we are going to be posting a daily blog covering some key stats and trends for some of the day's runners in the UK and Ireland. Please read the stats carefully as not all of them will be positive!

Stat 1 - System 14 has been a blinder over the years and is one that I usually use for accas as it has recorded a high strike rate consistently for the last 2-3 years of use. One trainer that I always love popping up with a qualifier is Roger Charlton. His win record with system 14 qualifiers on the turf is 50% from a sample size of 76 runners (level stakes profit of +38.08). Remarkably his record improves to a jaw dropping 62.5% in non-handicap races with only 1 of his 24 qualifiers failing to either win or place. The horse of interest today is OUT FROM UNDER (11/10) who runs in the 1:15 at Newmarket.

Stat 2 - It is no secret that 12f races at Ripon have been a very happy hunting ground for favourites in the last few season. Since 2019, they have won at a strike rate of 58.14% which is miles above the average. With a little bit of further tinkering with the filters, you can actually get the strike rate up to a ludicrous, 73%. The horse of interest today is the SP Favourite (currently TAMILLA 6/5) who runs in the 4:00 at Ripon.

Stat 2 - Richard Hughes was obviously a classy jockey and he's had a decent start to his training career as well, averaging a 12% win rate since he hung up his whip. Interestingly though, in the last couple of years, his methodology has seemingly changed and his percentage with staying horses (1 mile 6f to 2 miles) has ramped up considerably. In the last 3 seasons, he's been operating at 30% with these runners and at Bath and Chelmsford, his last 6 runners have won with 2 more being beaten favourites. The horse of interest today is SCHWARTZ (9/2) who runs in the 7:00 at Bath.
