Not a great day yesterday but we knew it would be tough going. We are not the biggest fans of Sunday racing but we do know of a few horses that are expected to run well.
1:30 Ayr - GLASSES UP (7/2) - WIN - This horse is very straightforward. In order to be seen to best effect he needs; good ground, 10 furlongs at a left handed track, a recent run under his belt, Paddy Mathers in the saddle and a class rating of between 3 and 5. When all of those criteria are met, the horse has a record of 7 runs and 5 wins. Today will be the first time all of those things have been in place since the horse won over this CD back in July 2020 off a mark of 82. He runs today off a mark of 83 against weaker opposition and having spoken to connections, he's there to try and win. With every box ticked, he has to be a bet. It is also worth mentioning that the yard strongly fancy ROYAL COUNTESS in the 2:03 as well but with a big field, we would have wanted a slightly better price.
1:50 Market Rasen - WYNFORD (7/1) - EW - This horse returned to form last time out on his second run for Rebecca. There’s no doubt that on old form he’s now handicapped to win races and with conditions in his favour and stable confidence behind him, he should run a big one.
2:25 Market Rasen - FIVETOTWELVE (15/8) - WIN - This is another horse that we’ve had a word for today but we probably would have backed her regardless. For a while now she’s looked like a horse that was struggling to finish off her races and therefore the addition of the first time tongue tie is a major plus. As some of you will know, Olly learned his trade under Gordan Elliot and the TT is a piece of equipment which they both use to very good effect.
Good luck 🦆
