Today's Best Bets (28/06)

Our strongest bets for today are detailed below and we are advising win singles as well as a win Lucky 15.

2:55 Pontefract - CARRIGILLIHY (11/4) - WIN - This gelding may not be entirely straightforward but on our ratings he is well clear of this field. He's run with credit on the last two occasions and the return of David Allan to the saddle will certainly help. The only real unknown in here as far as the opposition is concerned is, CHIPPING AWAY who has been backed over night. However, the yard is in poor form and I am not a big fan of the jockey, so I am happy enough to take the chance on CARRIGILLIHY.

3:15 Lingfield - EHRMAAN (5/2) - WIN - This is a sprinter I know really well and I also know a few of his opposition today too for one reason or another. This horse ran okay behind one of my horses at Kempton and clearly needs the drop back to 5 furlongs. His connections have fitted the CP's to sharpen him up and they have apparently worked well at home. Ultimately, if he can sit in second or 3rd in the run and bide his time, nothing in this field will be finishing faster than him. The danger is likely to be LETHAL BLAST but providing EHRMAAN can get along side him in the final furlong, I am sure he'll beat that one home.

5:05 Pontefract - VERREAUX EAGLE (7/2) - WIN - I think this is a really smart bit of race placement by Ed Dunlop. This filly won well at Carlisle last time out when making all and I think this particular course and distance is going to suit her perfectly. Whilst there are dangers, I am not sure any of them really want a super stiff 6 furlongs and for that reason, I just can't see anything catching VERREAUX EAGLE up the hill.

7:45 Musselburgh - SAMS CALL (5/2) - WIN - This gelding caught the eye on his return from a mammoth break last time out at Ripon (finished 5th). The speed figure he recorded that day would make him extremely competitive this evening and his market weakness that day would strongly suggest that the run was needed. If he can take a step forward from that run, then he should be very competitive in this race.
